ABOUT EMILY

Emily is a certified breath work healer trained by David Elliott in Los Angeles, California. She holds space for individuals, couples and groups both in-person and online through virtual sessions. She also works actively with Nathanial Hodder-Shipp at Breathwork for Recovery, an organization pioneering the use of breath work for trauma, addiction and mental health in various facilities across Southern California.

She holds a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and attended the University of Maryland School of Social Work in Baltimore. Her Bachelor’s degree was awarded in Economics from the American University in Washington, DC. She has worked extensively with educational institutions and with prison re-entry programs as a trainer, group facilitator and curriculum specialist. As an artist manger and coach she helps clients remove blocks to creativity and offers support when navigating the stress of the industries they work in.

Passionate about experiential group psychotherapy, Emily runs trauma-informed groups for adults and teens using action methods such as psychodrama, sociometry and art-making to educate clients on maintaining healthy relationships, managing stress, addressing addiction, codependency and many of the other life challenges that can affect our mental health. She is currently under supervision with Jean Campbell, LCSW, CET3, TEP of Braveheart Retreats working towards the Certified Practitioners designation with the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy.
